On 21st April 2007 there was a discussion on the topic, Declaration of Special Economic Zone in various parts of Karnataka. This discussion was held at CMD Auditorium, on Miller’s road. Rajeev Dixit was the eminent person who addressed the gathering and launched the discussion. The other eminent participants were Shiv Sundar from Lankesh Pathrike, Dr V S Shridhar (English Professor, Vijaya College), Prakash Belawadi (Editor Bangalore Bios) and Kodihalli Chandrashekar (President, Karnataka Raitha Sangha meaning Karnataka Farmers Association).
